THE VISION OF CORNERSTONE ASSEMBLY OF GOD CHURCH

Joining together in the power of the Holy Spirit to be healed, transformed & sent by Jesus to a world in need

Joining Together

God’s invitation of salvation includes a call to move from isolation to community. Jesus is the common bond Who unites his followers to be a healthy and diverse family of believers. This unity is experienced as we love one another just as Christ loved us.
Ephesians 2:19-20; John 17:23; Ephesians 5:1,2

In the Power of the Holy Spirit

Holy Spirit empowerment is promised to all believers and is essential to victorious Christian living and ministry. Each believer should expect and earnestly seek to be continuously filled with the Holy Spirit, producing the fruit of the Spirit. Acknowledging our dependency on the Holy Spirit, His power provides believers with spiritual gifts for more effective ministry, resulting in ministry and service in the body of Christ and a witness to the world.
Acts 2:38-39; Acts 1:8,9; Ephesians 5:18

To Be Healed

The atonement of Christ includes divine healing as a means of meeting the needs of those who come to Jesus. By His mercy, He provides both instantaneous and ongoing healing for the whole person: physically, mentally, emotionally, relationally and spiritually. Scriptures reveal that healing is released as we minister to one another through means such as prayer, laying on of hands, confession, and anointing with oil.
Psalm 34:4; Isaiah 53:5 Luke 4:17-19; James 5:14-16

To Be Transformed

Jesus is the source of all true change and His disciples are transformed when they are centered in Him. Transformation is experienced as we encounter Jesus, the source of all true change, and we follow Him in discipleship. Discipleship is a lifelong journey following Jesus into truth, experience and relationship. Transformation results in Christlikeness in us, and an accountable Spirit-filled lifestyle lived in the community of faith.
2 Corinthians 3:18; Romans 12:2

To Be Sent

Just as the Father sent Jesus, His plan is to send every believer to go and serve His Kingdom strengthening the Church and reaching the lost. This kind of servanthood will result in making disciples in every sphere of influence in our world. God’s great love compels us to share that love with all people so that He would be glorified and that His kingdom would come and His will would be done on earth as it is in heaven.
John 20:21; Matthew 28:19-20; John 3:16

By Jesus

Jesus, the Son of God, is the center of all truth, right relationships, and life giving experiences. As a result of His death on the cross, and His resurrection from the dead, He is the one true source of salvation, healing, transformation and life purpose for all people. He wants us to know Him personally, experiencing His presence and direction daily, worshiping Him through our actions, words, and obedience, becoming more like Him, and serving His purpose in this world.
Colossians 1:16-18; Romans 1: 3, 4; John 14:6

To a World In Need

As Jesus transforms His followers into His image, they inherit His sacrificial compassion for the world; acting justly, loving mercy and walking humbly with God. A vital part of life in Christ for every believer is serving as He served, allowing the very places He heals them to become the source of ministry to others. We are to be in relationship with those in need, intentionally declaring and demonstrating the gospel to those who have not come to faith in Jesus Christ.
